Abuse (Nursing homes)

Government Accounting Office (GAO) Report Abuse in Nursing Homes
According to this GAO report, the number of nursing homes cited for deficiencies involving actual harm to residents or placing them at risk of death or serious injury remained unacceptably high —20 percent of the nation 's 3,500 nursing homes. Fact Sheet on Abuse and Neglect in Nursing Homes
Developed by the National Citizens' Coalition for Nursing Home Reform, this fact sheet describes common forms of abuse in nursing homes and how to report, and information on other resources for advocates.

Domestic Violence

National Domestic Violence Awareness Month Manual
This publication was developed by the Domestic Violence Awareness Project (DVAP) in collaboration with National Resource Center on Domestic Violence. DVAP is partnership of national, state, local and tribal domestic violence advocacy organizations that provides technical assistance and materials to raise awareness about domestic violence. The manual focuses on strategies for Domestic Violence Awareness month, it provides basis information, advice and sample materials that can be used by all advocates.

The Minnesota Center Against Violence and Abuse Web site
This site provides scholarly information on domestic violence and serves as an electronic clearinghouse for resources on violence; it includes information on violence education and training resources for professionals, a searchable database on the links between domestic violence and child abuse, and links to papers and reports on domestic violence.
